Freudenberg Medical, a prominent global leader specializing in the design and manufacture of minimally invasive medical devices, recently unveiled its expanded facility in Galway, Ireland. Concurrently, the company announced the addition of 100 new employment opportunities.
As a division of the Freudenberg Group, the company celebrated the expansion of its facility during an event attended by Dr. Mohsen Sohi, CEO of the Freudenberg Group.
The newly established facility increases Freudenberg Medical's existing manufacturing capacity in Galway by 50%, and the introduction of new job positions will bolster the workforce by 25%, ultimately reaching a total employee count of 400 within the next 18 months. These new roles encompass a variety of functions, including engineering, research and development, manufacturing operations, quality control, and support services.
This expansion strategically addresses the surging global demand for the company's vital metal components utilized in minimally invasive surgical catheters. Furthermore, it positions Freudenberg Medical to further advance the development of intricate products to better serve its global clientele.

Freudenberg Medical currently employs more than 1,000 individuals in Ireland, operating from a combined 200,000 sq ft manufacturing footprint in Galway and Co. Leitrim. These Irish facilities collectively manufacture over 16 million complex catheters annually, catering to a diverse global clientele.
Freudenberg Medical maintains operations in key industry hubs across the US, Europe, Asia, and Costa Rica. The Irish facilities were initially established through joint venture partnerships with former Cambus Medical and VistaMed operations, which have since transitioned into Freudenberg Medical.
