Monday, July 31, 2023

Henry Schein Medical, the U.S. medical business of Henry Schein, Inc. and Medpod Inc. have jointly launched a revolutionary solution called Medpac. Medpac is a portable and lightweight telediagnostic platform that enables healthcare providers to offer comprehensive professional care, irrespective of the patient's location. This technology aims to bridge the gap between remote telemedicine consultations and in-person office visits, making healthcare more accessible and improving patient outcomes, especially in underserved and remote areas.

Medpac is a compact version of Medpod Inc.'s MobileDoc, housing a range of telediagnostic devices that allow healthcare providers to conduct remote examinations. The platform features cutting-edge technology, supporting real-time video and audio communication, as well as clinical and lab data streaming, which works effectively on both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. This seamless connectivity ensures continuous patient monitoring and facilitates access to critical medical information, ultimately enhancing the quality of care provided.

Exclusively distributed by Henry Schein Medical, Medpac finds applications in various settings, including ambulatory surgery centers, emergency medical services, off-site point of care expansion, health professional storage areas, house calls, military services, schools, and worksites.
Todd Stack, General Manager of Medical Solutions at Henry Schein, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Medpod Inc., highlighting that Medpac utilizes Medpod's pioneering telediagnostics and supports their commitment to providing innovative healthcare solutions. Together, they aim to transform healthcare delivery, extending the reach of medical professionals and improving patient outcomes.

Within the Medpac platform, healthcare providers will find a range of medical instruments, an exam camera, a choice of a 12 or 17-inch screen tablet, hot-swappable batteries, and a headphone jack for stethoscope monitoring.

Jack Tawil, Chairman, and CEO at Medpod Inc., expressed pride in the launch of Medpac, a highly portable version of their MobileDoc solution. Medpod's mission has always been to mobilize healthcare delivery, and Medpac reflects years of feedback from both providers and patients, going through an intense design process to pack significant diagnostic capabilities into a backpack that was previously transported using a utility truck.
