Todos Medical, Ltd., a comprehensive medical diagnostics and solutions company, has announced that its CLIA/CAP-certified clinical laboratory, Provista Diagnostics, Inc., located in Atlanta, has initiated a case study series to evaluate the potential for missed diagnoses of Monkeypox among non-gay male patient groups. These patients have been unable to obtain adequate testing to confirm their diagnosis and continue to experience symptoms for up to 10 weeks. The case study series aims to assess different test articles for Monkeypox viral reservoir and validate various sample types as laboratory-developed tests (LDTs). The initial enrollment includes three women and one man, and additional patients are welcome to participate in the Monkeypox case study.
Todos Medical also plans to collaborate with Amerimmune to study the effects of Monkeypox on the immune system. This data will provide unique insights into active and recent infections, potential viral reservoirs driving long-term symptoms, the development of immunity from infection, and the potential impact of Jynneos vaccination. The gathered data from these patients will support the launch of a planned blood-based IgM/IgG laboratory test to determine active or recent Monkeypox infection and assess immunity status.
Patients, particularly women and children, who have faced challenges in receiving a definitive diagnosis of Monkeypox can reach out to Provista for potential enrollment in the Monkeypox case study series by contacting customerservice@provistadx.com. Todos Medical is committed to advancing understanding and diagnosis of Monkeypox to improve patient care and outcomes.
