Milan Rao

SS Innovations International, Inc., a developer of advanced surgical robotic technologies focused on expanding global access to affordable robotic surgery, has appointed Milan Rao as Global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

The Global COO role is newly established, and Rao succeeds Naveen Kumar Amar as CFO following Amar’s resignation for personal reasons. Based in the United States, Rao will collaborate closely with the company’s Chairman and executive leadership team during a structured transition period.

Rao brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience, driving technology-enabled transformation, operational excellence, and scalable growth across global organizations, including within the healthcare sector. His expertise spans worldwide operations management, cross-functional leadership, financial oversight, mergers and acquisitions, and capital allocation strategies aimed at delivering sustainable, profitable expansion.

Most recently, Rao served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Revenue Officer at Markets and Markets, a global research and consulting firm. Previously, he held senior leadership positions including President and Global Business Head at Smart Energy Water, a cloud-based SaaS provider; President at Wipro Limited, a global technology services company; and President & CEO for India and Emerging Markets at GE Healthcare. Earlier in his career, he built strong financial and capital markets experience at Morgan Stanley and Citibank.

Rao holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, where he was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus, and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
