Adventist Health Sierra Vista Announces $220M Expansion to Enhance Local Care
Introduction:
Adventist Health has approved a $220 million capital expansion at Adventist Health Sierra Vista, one of the largest healthcare investments in San Luis Obispo County. The project aims to modernise and expand the hospital’s facilities, enhancing access to complex and specialised care close to home. Planning is already underway, with construction expected to begin in 2028.
Features:
The expansion will include a new Emergency Department and Trauma Center, new Labour and Delivery and Postpartum units, and additional operating and procedure rooms to support a wider range of services.
A new Intensive Care Unit will be added, and inpatient rooms will be remodelled to improve comfort, healing, and the overall patient experience.
Adventist Health Sierra Vista serves as the county’s only Trauma Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Pediatric Inpatient Unit.
The expansion is designed to increase capacity, introduce new technology, and expand local services, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the area for specialised care.
Construction is expected to begin in 2028, with completion timelines to be announced as the project progresses.
