- Establishing a new rehabilitation facility in Norton, VA.
- Installing cutting-edge da Vinci surgical systems and Ion robots for advanced diagnostic procedures.
- Introducing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) technology at Johnson City Medical Center.
- Upgrading CT and cardiac diagnostic technologies at Holston Valley Medical Center.
- Creating the Barbara Humphreys Family Birth Center at Indian Path Community Hospital.
- Initiating the largest expansion in the history of Niswonger Children’s Hospital, including the new J.D. Nicewonder Family Perinatal and Pediatric Institute and a state-of-the-art NICU serving both Tennessee and Virginia.
The expansion aims to alleviate crowding issues and improve patient access to care.
Work on the project is set to begin immediately, with architects and planners collaborating with hospital staff to ensure the new facilities meet their needs. The additional beds are expected to be operational by 2026.
