Baptist Collierville Invests $10 million-plus for ICU and ER Expansion
Introduction:
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville is expanding its hospital. This development will focus on significantly enhancing both the intensive care unit (ICU) and the emergency department. This aims to address the growing healthcare needs of the community by increasing capacity and improving patient care facilities.
Features:
The expansion will significantly increase the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) capacity. Specifically, the ICU will be expanded from its current seven beds to 14, effectively doubling its size.
This expansion will also lead to a major increase in the unit's overall area, growing to encompass 17,000 square feet.
A key part of this development involves relocating the ICU from the first floor to the second floor. The new ICU will take over previously unused spaces and former shelled areas on the second floor.
This strategic move will add an additional 4,732 square feet to the ER, enhancing its capacity to handle a higher volume of emergency cases and improving the overall efficiency of emergency care services.
The hospital's expansion is expected to be completed by 2025.
