This advanced facility, located at Care New England's Women & Infants Hospital, has been named in honor of a generous $5 million donation from Brown University towards the project.
The upcoming facility will replace Women & Infants' outdated labor and delivery center, offering improved birthing options, equitable care for patients, and a world-class center for families in Rhode Island and the surrounding region to welcome their newborns.
The upcoming Brown University Labor and Delivery Center will feature enhanced design elements to elevate the birthing experience. These include spacious and cozy rooms with private baths and windows, accommodating families, doulas, and support staff.
The facility will prioritize providing the best possible care plan through its thoughtful design, updated equipment, and modern decor reflecting advancements in technology and medical practices. Importantly, these improved rooms will ensure equitable healthcare by offering the same enhanced experience to all patients.
The labor and delivery center is expected to be completed in December 2024.
