CDU Health Facility Commences Construction with Groundbreaking Ceremony

Introduction:

The construction of Charles Darwin University's (CDU) upcoming Centre for Better Health Futures, valued at $25.8 million, is set to begin

Features:

The facility, valued at $25.8 million, will serve as a training and research space to address healthcare challenges in the Northern Territory (NT) and surrounding regions.

The 3,684 square-meter, three-storey building has been designed by dwp Australia and Ashford Group Architects.

It will include clinical and preclinical simulation environments, laboratory spaces, and research infrastructure.

Notably, there will be a simulated emergency department and hospital ward with twelve-bed bays for hands-on training.

Faculty of Health teaching staff will guide students in these professional settings.

The Centre seeks to drive positive change in healthcare outcomes through collaborative research, community engagement, and industry partnerships.

Its focus extends to improving healthcare in regional, remote, and very remote areas.

The construction is projected to be completed by late 2024.
