Connecticut Children's Begins Construction on New Eight-Story Clinical Tower During 10th Annual Superhero Day

Connecticut Children's Holds Superhero-Themed Groundbreaking Ceremony to Commence $326 Million Expansion Plan

Connecticut Children's is commencing the construction of a 190,000 square-foot clinical tower in Hartford.

The clinical tower will consist of two floors with 50 private neonatal intensive care rooms.

It will also include a fetal care center with six labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms.

The tower will house two dedicated operating rooms and an advanced gene therapy unit for bone marrow transplants and liquid radiation treatments.

A 14-bed acuity adaptable unit will be available to accommodate patients with varying levels of acuity.

Inpatient floors will feature open-air terraces where families and staff can find respite.

The expansion plan involves upgraded kitchen facilities, advanced meeting and conference spaces, and an expanded pharmacy and gift shop.

The project showcases Connecticut Children's commitment to innovation, new programs, and exceptional care.

It is expected to create job opportunities, provide training for future medical professionals, and strengthen Connecticut's position as a healthcare destination.

The project is expected to reach completion in the year 2025.
