Denver Health Invests $100-115 Million in Construction of Sam Sandos Westside Family Health Center
Introduction
Denver Health has started construction on the new Sam Sandos Westside Family Health Center, marking a major investment in improving access to healthcare for communities in West Denver. The new facility represents a significant step in expanding essential health services for a diverse and growing population.
Features
The new centre will cover approximately 82,500 square feet and will be built on the site of the current clinic’s parking area at 1100 Federal Boulevard.
Part of the funding comes from the Denver VIBRANT Bond, a voter-approved programme designed to support fair and inclusive infrastructure and community services.
Once completed, the facility will increase patient capacity by around 30 per cent and is expected to serve more than 33,000 patients each year.
The health centre will provide a wide range of services under one roof, including primary care for children and adults, dental services, women’s health and obstetrics, physical and occupational therapy, and advanced diagnostic imaging such as CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound and mammography.
The new Sam Sandos Westside Family Health Center is expected to open in 2027.
