Groundbreaking $9M Investment Propels the Evolution of New Prague Cancer Center


Mayo Clinic Health System commits $9 million for New Prague cancer center expansion and renovation, set to begin in 2024.


Objectives include increasing patient capacity, modernizing facilities, and enhancing operational efficiency by integrating cancer and infusion therapy practices.

Anticipating a 9% growth in U.S. patients requiring cancer care over the next five years.

New Prague cancer center crucial for providing life-saving treatments to communities over a wide geographic area.

Project features include:

  • Creation of an integrated Oncology Department with services like clinical care, chemotherapy, immuno and targeted therapies, genetic counseling, nutrition guidance, social work assistance, and pharmacy support.
  • Measures to improve patient privacy and accommodations, emphasizing infection control.
  • Ten beds, including eight infusion therapy bays and two private rooms, for both cancer and noncancer infusions.
  • Five dedicated exam rooms tailored for oncology and hematology patients.
  • Streamlined patient flow and improved wayfinding.
  • Dedicated spaces for providers, including offices, nurse stations, and break rooms.
