HCA Florida Healthcare Commences $231 Million Construction Project

Introduction:

HCA Florida Healthcare, the state's leading network of hospitals and healthcare facilities, has started construction on the new $231 million HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital.

The project was officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the recently opened HCA Florida Gainesville Emergency Room, which will be transformed into a full-service hospital within the next 18 months.

The hospital will feature a surgical services department, a catheterization lab, 60 medical/surgical beds, a 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, and a full range of imaging services.

The facility is expected to employ more than 200 individuals, including physicians, healthcare professionals, and support staff.

This expanded access to state-of-the-art medical treatment and providing a positive economic boost to our growing area, enthusiastic about the new jobs this major project will create and anticipate additional business growth in the area as a result.

The hospital is scheduled to open in early 2026 at 4094 SW 41st Boulevard, the new hospital and medical office building will expand the existing HCA Florida Gainesville Emergency Room. 

The addition of HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital will help meet the increasing need for acute care services in the communities we serve and provide seamless continuity of care in one location for patients and their families.
