HCA Florida to Invest US$300Million in New Cape Coral Hospital
Introduction
HCA Florida Healthcare and the City of Cape Coral have announced plans to develop a new full-service hospital in Cape Coral, Florida, to expand access to acute and specialist care for the growing local population. The project represents an estimated $300 million investment and will transform the existing HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency site at 322 SW Pine Island Road into a hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services.
Features
The planned three-storey hospital will cover approximately 200,000 sq ft.
The first phase is expected to provide up to 100 acute care beds, an emergency department, operating rooms and a cardiac catheterisation laboratory.
Services are planned across emergency care, surgery, cardiovascular care, inpatient and outpatient treatment, and medical imaging.
The facility will also have scope for future expansion as demand increases.
It will be integrated with HCA Florida Healthcare’s wider care network, supporting access to specialists, clinical services and other healthcare resources.
Once operational, HCA Florida Cape Coral Hospital will become the 19th hospital within HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division.
The development is intended to support Cape Coral’s growing healthcare needs while contributing to local economic development through new healthcare services and employment opportunities.
