Huntsville Hospital Invests $150 Million to Expand Clinical Space
Introduction:
Huntsville Hospital is set to expand its facilities with an additional 154,000 square feet of clinical space to better serve the growing population of Rocket City and its surrounding areas.
Features:
The hospital expansion includes a new Neuro Intensive Care Unit dedicated to neurosurgical and stroke patients, providing specialized care for critical cases. Additionally, three extra floors of acute medical space have been added to accommodate growing patient needs.
The expansion also features 120 new private patient rooms, enhancing comfort and privacy for patients. Furthermore, the Emergency Department has been upgraded with a new vehicle entrance to improve access and efficiency in emergency care.
Upon completion, the hospital’s total bed capacity will increase from 881 to 931. Additionally, 70 existing patient rooms will be converted from double to single occupancy, improving patient comfort and privacy.
The expansion will also help reduce waiting times in the Emergency Department while eliminating the need for shared hospital rooms, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s commitment to patient-centred care.
The expansion will be completed by the year 2027.
