Mission Memorial Hospital Begins $18 Million Emergency Department Expansion

Introduction:

Mission Memorial Hospital has begun construction on an $18-million expansion of its Emergency Department, designed to modernize facilities and increase capacity for patients in Mission and surrounding communities.

Features:

The upgraded Emergency Department will increase in size by 35%, expanding from 17 to 41 care spaces.

The design includes a resuscitation room with a dedicated anteroom for rapid interventions, an airborne isolation room to improve infection control, and a private room for patients with mental health concerns.

The modern facilities aim to attract and retain skilled emergency physicians and healthcare workers, creating a more supportive environment and improving long-term service stability. Four new physicians have already joined the team over the past year.

The Emergency Department expansion is expected to be completed by spring 2027.
