New $64.8 Million Hospital Construction to Commence at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County

Introduction:

Construction to Commence on Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County (MHLC)

Features:

The new hospital and clinic building will replace the current facility and will be constructed on a 36-acre site at the intersection of WI State Hwy. 23 and County Hwy. K.

The new hospital, spanning 80,000 square feet, will feature a modern emergency department, diagnostic imaging facilities, surgical services with two operating rooms, a procedure room, a medical and surgical unit, a pharmacy, rehabilitation services, and a vision clinic with a retail eye shop.

The hospital will also provide dedicated space for behavioral health services and mindfulness sessions.

In addition to the main hospital building, there will be a separate 3,600-square-foot structure housing two residency units and a maintenance storage garage.

The construction project aims to improve access to essential healthcare services for the residents of Southwest Wisconsin, eliminating the need for long travel times.

The new hospital is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024, while the current facility will continue to operate during the construction process.
