The initiative is focused on modernising the facility and expanding access to specialised healthcare services for the local community.

The first phase of the project, with an estimated cost of $6.5 million, will begin immediately. This stage includes the development of a new Wound and Hyperbaric Centre in partnership with Restorix, as well as a Vascular Centre and Vascular Laboratory in collaboration with University at Buffalo Vascular Surgeons.

Additionally, new surgical office suites and minor procedure rooms will be added, along with private medical offices for specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, and gastroenterology.

Future phases, planned for 2026 and 2027, will involve the construction of a 430-space attached parking garage and a new 12-bed step-down ICU unit.

Renovations will be made to the Medical/Surgical floor and the Women’s Pavilion, and a new telemetry system will be installed for all inpatient beds and the Emergency Department.
