NSW Government Invests $25 Million to Upgrade Finley Hospital

Introduction

Work has begun on the $25 million redevelopment of Finley Hospital, marking a major step forward in improving health services for the local community and surrounding towns. The New South Wales Government is funding the project to strengthen patient-focused care and modernise service delivery.

Features

The project will deliver new and refurbished clinical areas to support communities in Finley, Berrigan, Barooga, Tocumwal and Jerilderie.

Key elements include new inpatient rooms, a relocated medical imaging unit with an added ultrasound service, and an expanded reception area.

The Emergency Department will be upgraded, along with essential services such as IT systems to ensure stronger connectivity across health services. Staff facilities will also be improved as part of the redevelopment.

The hospital design has been shaped through consultation with staff, patients, Aboriginal community representatives and the Local Health Advisory Committee.

Construction has been awarded to Barpa, a firm with experience in delivering health infrastructure projects.

The redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 2027.
