St. Luke's Embarks on Groundbreaking for Extensive Campus Expansion Project

Introduction:

St. Luke's Launches Phase II of Health Forward Initiative with $58 Million Campus Expansion Groundbreaking Ceremony

Features:

St. Luke's is commencing a multi-faceted campus expansion project.

The project includes three major components.

The first component involves a $58-million investment in a vertical expansion of St. Luke's Building A.

The expansion will add three stories and approximately 60 new private cardiac and intensive care unit hospital rooms.

The second component focuses on transforming the current inpatient units of St. Luke's Hospital into all-new finishes with all-private rooms.

The third component involves the construction of a parking ramp to expand on-campus parking, providing a total of 323 spaces upon completion in spring.

Building A's expansion will incorporate the latest technology, such as new monitors and lifts in every room to assist patients and staff.

Additional features of the Building A project include increased ICU bed capacity, a more efficient layout with three nursing pods per floor, and spaces designed by care teams.

Sustainability is a priority, with the project adopting LEED principles and incorporating energy-efficient design elements.

The hot water loop infrastructure for heating in Building A will be resized and expanded to accommodate the Phase II expansion.

The design of Phase II will optimize natural sunlight and utilize windows with extremely energy-efficient glass.

Erdman is leading the construction and design of the project.

The parking ramp construction is expected to be completed by March 2024.

The new inpatient units are projected to be finished by the end of 2024.
