Sutter Health Invests $800 Million to Build New Healthcare Campuses in Silicon Valley
Introduction:
Sutter Health has announced plans to develop approximately 1 million square feet of healthcare facilities across two campuses in Santa Clara. This not-for-profit healthcare organisation, in collaboration with the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) and The Sobrato Organisation, will repurpose two large, vacant office campuses to create a regional healthcare hub.

It consists of two sites in Santa Clara. The first location, is known as the Sutter West Santa Clara Campus, while the second site, the Sutter East Santa Clara Campus. Together, these campuses will form a connected healthcare destination, capable of accommodating the growing patient base and expanding physician workforce.
Sutter West Santa Clara Campus spanning approximately 700,000 square feet, will focus on specialist care and feature four centres of excellence dedicated to orthopaedics and sports medicine, cancer care, women’s health, and heart and vascular services.
It will also provide diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and a range of other specialist clinics. Services are expected to begin opening in phases by 2027.
Sutter East Santa Clara Campus covers about 300,000 square feet, this campus will prioritise primary care, specialist care, ambulatory surgery, and urgent care services.
Planned offerings include primary care, paediatrics, mental health services, and advanced diagnostics, among others. The first building is set to open in late 2025.
The opening is done by the year 2027.
