Sutter Invests $1 Billion to Expand and Improve Patient Access

Sutter Health has announced a major expansion to improve healthcare access across the East Bay.

Features:

A new flagship campus in Emeryville will feature an advanced ambulatory care complex and a medical centre with up to 200 beds, addressing growing demand for medical services.

The project includes recruiting more doctors, simplifying appointment scheduling, and strengthening workforce development.

The 12-acre Emeryville campus will serve as a key healthcare hub, with outpatient services, medical offices, and parking facilities. It will house specialist clinics, urgent care, imaging, laboratory services, and an inpatient medical centre

Additionally, Sutter is strengthening its workforce through Graduate Medical Education programmes, aiming to train 1,000 residents and fellows by 2030.

The new Emeryville campus will support this initiative, reinforcing Sutter’s commitment to high-quality, and integrated healthcare in the East Bay.

The expansion will be completed by 2028.
