Introduction:
Texas Health Hospital Rockwall is investing US $92.3 million to renovate and expand its hospital in the United States.
Features:
A Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and an expanded Emergency Department will be added to the expanding North Texas community as a result of the development, which would double the size of the current facility.
In addition, a new story will be added, converting an inpatient wing into a four-story bed tower.
As part of the project, 51,000 square feet of interior space will be restored, and 32,000 square feet of renovated space will be added.
The full project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023. These upgrades are being constructed in phases.
After the expansion is completed, the hospital is expected to deliver 1,200 infants annually, up from 400 or 200 percent now.
Two private rooms as well as a separate room for parents who need to stay overnight with their infants are included in the upgraded eight-bed NICU. The hospital now has a NICU for the first time as a result of this addition.
There are large waiting rooms in bright blue and grey tones in the NICU and other renovated areas. The walls are decorated with wave patterns that allude to the adjacent lake. These elements are designed to promote serenity.
The majority of the first level is undergoing renovation or updating. The front-line caregivers at the facility contributed to the design based on requirements discovered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project at Texas Health Rockwall will eventually consist of:
• Expanded labour and delivery area with ten remodelled labour and delivery rooms, up from seven
• Two C-section rooms, up from one
• Twenty-four postpartum rooms, up from 10
• Twelve intensive care unit (ICU) beds, up from six
• Renovation of the post-anaesthesia care unit
• New cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology lab
• New kitchen
• New central plant; and more parking
