Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano Invests $343 Million to Build New Tower
Introduction:
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is expanding its facilities to better serve the healthcare needs of Collin County and nearby communities. This growth includes the addition of a six-story parking garage and an eight-story tower which enhance access to high-quality medical care.
Features:
It is advancing its capabilities in neurosciences, heart and vascular care, and digestive health while continuing to address the community’s trauma and emergency care needs.
The hospital's newly designed medical spaces aim to provide a comfortable and healing environment for patients, integrating cutting-edge medical tools and technology.
A six-story parking structure has increased parking capacity by 538 spaces compared to the original surface lot.
It features a sky bridge connecting to the Medical Office 2 building and includes electric vehicle charging stations. Adjacent to this development, a new tower is under construction to enhance the hospital’s capacity for short-term intensive care and critical care patients with severe injuries or illnesses.
The hospital will offer nearly 400 licensed acute and critical care beds, up from 230, bringing the total number of beds to 563, including those for Behavioral Health and Women and Infants.
Additionally, a basement will connect to existing service corridors and house an expanded pharmacy department.
It also upgraded its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), increasing its capacity to 42 beds. The NICU includes seven private, hotel-style rooms for families of infants requiring extended specialized care, as well as two rooms designed for twins and triplets.
The new operating room will also support advanced treatments like transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), endovascular aneurysm repair, and blood clot removal.
The construction will be completed by the year 2028.
