Universal Health Services Starts New Hospital Construction in USA

Introduction:

Universal Health Services has commenced construction on a new full-service hospital, the Alan B. Miller Medical Centre, named after the company's founder and executive chairman.

Features:

The state-of-the-art hospital will be situated on Pasteur Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens, USA and will join UHS' expanding regional network of healthcare operations.

This network includes Wellington Regional Medical Centre, the ER at Westlake (an extension of Wellington Regional Medical Centre), Wellington Physicians Urgent Care, and other healthcare services and access points.

The Alan B. Miller Medical Centre will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building, and a helicopter landing pad. Once the initial phase of the project is completed, the hospital campus will encompass 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The centre will provide a comprehensive range of medical services, including emergency care, orthopaedics and surgical treatments, labour and delivery, neonatal intensive care, oncology, cardiology, and neurosurgery. Additionally, the complex will house medical office buildings
offering outpatient services.

Throughout the construction phase, the project is expected to indirectly generate around 1,500 jobs. Upon completion, the hospital will create approximately 800 additional healthcare employment opportunities. The Alan B. Miller Medical Centre aims to enhance healthcare accessibility, provide patients with more options, and serve as an extension of the existing high-quality care available in the Palm Beach Gardens area.

Construction management will be overseen by Turner Construction, while Gresham Smith and Partners will serve as the architect/engineering company.

The anticipated opening of the new building is scheduled for 2025.
