Westchester Medical Center Embarks on $25M Campaign for Critical Care Expansion

Introduction:

Westchester Medical Center, the main hospital of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, has begun the public phase of its $25 million “Possible Starts Here” campaign to complete the Brenda Fareri Pavilion, a modern critical care tower designed to strengthen specialist and emergency care across the Hudson Valley.

Features

The Brenda Fareri Pavilion will be a five-storey, 162,000-square-foot facility built to support highly complex medical cases.

It will include intensive care-ready rooms, flexible treatment areas to manage public health emergencies, and specialist units for neurosurgery and cardiac care.

The building will also accommodate the region’s most advanced Neuroscience ICU, the Hudson Valley’s only Comprehensive Stroke Centre, and an enhanced Medical-Surgical ICU.

Once completed, the Pavilion will further strengthen Westchester Medical Center’s role as a leading provider of advanced medical services.

In addition to improving healthcare delivery, the project is expected to generate significant economic value for Westchester County through construction activity and new permanent jobs.

It will also create space within the main hospital to convert patient areas into private rooms, improving comfort and privacy for those receiving care.

The Brenda Fareri Pavilion is scheduled for completion in 2026.
