Dr. Matthew Crowson

Drive Health, a Phoenix-based digital health startup focused on advancing patient-centered care, has appointed Dr. Matthew G. Crowson, MD, MPA, MASc, MBI, as Chief Medical Officer.
 
The appointment strengthens Drive Health’s clinical leadership as the company accelerates the safe, evidence-based adoption of artificial intelligence in frontline healthcare settings.

Dr. Crowson is a dual board-certified physician and informaticist, widely recognized for his expertise at the intersection of clinical medicine, data science, and medical AI. In his role as Chief Medical Officer, he will lead Drive Health’s clinical strategy, with a particular focus on AI governance, clinical workflow validation, and ensuring that emerging technologies are deployed responsibly to improve patient outcomes and clinician efficiency.

With a distinguished academic background spanning medicine, engineering, and public policy, Dr. Crowson earned his M.D. from Dartmouth College, a Master of Biomedical Informatics from Harvard Medical School, a Master of Applied Science from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Public Administration from the Royal Military College of Canada. His multidisciplinary training underpins his ability to bridge technical innovation with real-world clinical implementation.

Dr. Crowson has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and is an internationally recognized keynote speaker and patented inventor in the field of medical artificial intelligence. Across academia, consulting, and industry, he has built a reputation as a rare “triple-threat” leader - capable of designing AI algorithms, developing compelling business cases, and leading clinical execution at scale.
