Jie Xue
Royal Philips, a global leader in health technology, has announced two strategic leadership appointments. Jie Xue has been named Chief Business Leader of Precision Diagnosis and co-leader of the Diagnosis & Treatment segment, while Özlem Fidanci has been appointed Chief of International Region.
Both leaders have joined Philips’ Executive Committee and will report directly to Roy Jakobs, CEO of Philips.
Jie Xue joins Philips from GE Healthcare, where she most recently served as President and CEO of Global Magnetic Resonance (MR) Imaging. With over 25 years of experience at GE, Xue has held various leadership roles across Global X-ray, MR, Services, and Business Development. She is known for her deep domain expertise in imaging and a strong track record of driving strategic growth and innovation, particularly in the U.S. market.
She succeeds Bert van Meurs, who had been serving as interim head of Precision Diagnosis and will continue to lead the Image Guided Therapy business. Together, Xue and van Meurs will oversee the Diagnosis & Treatment segment.
Özlem Fidanci rejoins Philips from Versuni, taking over from Edwin Paalvast, who is retiring after a distinguished 35-year career, including five years with Philips. Fidanci brings extensive experience in healthcare and consumer markets, having served in multiple leadership roles during her 22-year tenure at Philips. Her previous roles include Health Systems Leader and Market Leader for the Middle East & Türkiye, where she worked closely with both public and private healthcare sectors to deliver impactful solutions.
These appointments reflect Philips’ continued commitment to strengthening its leadership team and advancing innovation and customer focus across its global health technology portfolio.
