Mike Butler
Cognoa, a leader in child development and behavioral health, has appointed Mike Butler as Executive Chair of its Board of Directors.
Butler, with over 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, previously served as President of Providence, one of the largest U.S. health systems. During his tenure from 1998 to 2020, Providence's annual revenue grew from US$2 billion to US$25 billion, driven by his strategic focus on clinical innovation, network expansion, and healthcare affordability.
Cognoa specializes in AI-driven solutions for pediatric behavioral health, including Canvas Dx, the first FDA-authorized AI diagnostic for pediatric autism. Designed for early, equitable diagnosis, Canvas Dx empowers healthcare professionals to address developmental concerns quickly and initiate timely interventions. Its diverse training dataset ensures an objective diagnostic process, eliminating biases prevalent in traditional practices.
The appointment of Butler is expected to strengthen Cognoa’s mission to improve access to early pediatric diagnoses and treatments globally. His expertise will support the company’s efforts to expand the adoption of Canvas Dx and address critical needs in developmental healthcare. Recently, Highmark became the first commercial insurer to cover Canvas Dx, marking a significant milestone in accessibility for families.
