Dr. Ted James
Perimeter Medical Imaging AI, Inc., a commercial-stage medical technology company, has appointed Ted James, MD, MHCM, FACS, as its first Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
In this fractional role, Dr. James will provide strategic clinical leadership to strengthen Perimeter’s medical strategy and support the adoption of its innovative technology as the company advances toward broader commercialization.
A nationally recognized surgical oncologist and healthcare leader, Dr. James brings a unique perspective to the intersection of cancer care, health system management, and medical innovation. He currently serves as System Physician Executive of the Endeavor Health Cancer Institute.
Previously, he was Chief of Breast Surgical Oncology and Director of the Breast Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), where he expanded a nationally accredited multidisciplinary breast program and led the development of an NIH-funded research portfolio. He also held the role of Vice Chair of Academic Affairs in the Department of Surgery at BIDMC and served as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. James earned his medical degree from Drexel University, completed surgical residency training at NYU (North Shore–Long Island Jewish), and pursued fellowship training in surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. In addition, he holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
His appointment reflects Perimeter’s commitment to clinical excellence and physician engagement as it advances transformative imaging technology designed to improve surgical precision and patient outcomes.
