Danaher Corporation, a leading global innovator in life sciences and diagnostics, has announced that Julie Sawyer Montgomery will succeed Joakim Weidemanis as Executive Vice President, Diagnostics.

Weidemanis will assist with the transition over the next three months and retire from Danaher on September 30, 2024, after 13 years of service.

Sawyer Montgomery, who currently serves as Vice President and Group Executive of Danaher's Clinical Diagnostics businesses, will become an executive officer reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer, Rainer Blair.

Blair expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, "Julie's exceptional leadership has been crucial in driving growth and enhancing performance at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics and, more recently, across our Clinical Diagnostics businesses. Julie's dedication to supporting our customers, building effective teams, fostering innovation, and leading with the Danaher Business System has been remarkable. I look forward to seeing her apply her skills to ensure the continued success of our Diagnostics franchise and to improve patient outcomes through faster, more accurate diagnoses."

Sawyer Montgomery joined Danaher in 2017 and has provided strategic leadership across Danaher's Diagnostics businesses. Her previous roles include President of Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, and she has held leadership positions at Hospira Infusion Systems, Boston Scientific, and Boston Consulting Group. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University, a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Weidemanis joined Danaher in 2011 and, among his many achievements, most recently led the Diagnostics businesses while also overseeing the Product Identification and Water Quality platforms, now part of Veralto Corporation.

Blair added, "It has been a privilege to work with Joakim over the past 13 years. His contributions have been vital in evolving our strategy, driving growth and innovation, and developing leaders across our businesses. On behalf of our Board of Directors, associates, and shareholders, I extend our heartfelt thanks to Joakim for his significant impact on making Danaher a stronger and better company."
