Jonathan P. Kyriacou
RWJBarnabas Health has appointed Jonathan P. Kyriacou as President and Chief Executive Officer of Jersey City Medical Center.
In his new role, Kyriacou will lead the hospital’s strategic direction, operational management, and financial performance, while overseeing daily operations, advancing patient care quality, and driving key growth initiatives across Hudson County.
Kyriacou most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, a 1,134-bed academic medical center. There, he managed a US$4 billion operating budget and led more than 15,000 employees. He oversaw a US$750 million master capital plan, including development of the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Hospital, and implemented a five-year strategy to expand clinical services and enhance operational performance.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kyriacou directed the rapid expansion of hospital capacity to 1,600 beds and established large-scale testing and vaccination centers. He also supported the launch of the Institute for Critical Care Medicine across the Mount Sinai Health System to strengthen quality outcomes and coverage.
Kyriacou holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in health policy and management and has received recognition from Becker’s Hospital Review and Crain’s New York Business for his leadership achievements.
